A Few Weeks Shy of the Real World

No, Not MTV. The Actual real world.

Here are our “Layers of the Earth” posters that we created.  I bought some textured basket filler from the dollar store and let my students glue it onto previously traced circles to create and label the crust, mantle, inner core, and outer core.  They turned out great! I have gotten a few comments from fellow teachers saying “Nice bonfires!”, “You made targets?”, or “Oh you’re learning about the sun!”.
I paired this little number with the project too.  I kid you not, this YouTube video is a teacher rapping about the layers of the Earth to Wiz Khalifa’s “Black and Yellow”.  The kids loved it! Definitely check it out if you plan on teaching this next year.

Loving this! My kids are going to flip out when they hear the song.

Raps are awesome! I love the textured paper rather than a standard colour-in diagram.
