The Frenemy.: Drunk Thoughts →
thefrenemy:
I should buy another drink because if I don’t my social lubricant will dry up and die
I can only talk to people at a certain point of drunkeness
I’m not drunk enough to enjoy all these people I hate these people
Goodness, I will try my damndest to reach a point of enjoyment! Cheers to wine!
My bed is probably the most comfortable place in the world, like if a cloud burped up...
It's 2AM
Why am I watching a news cast titled “Early Morning News”… No one told them 2AM is still NIGHT for the rest of the world?
Seriously, what is this?
Oh, I don’t sleep during normal hours anymore. This is going to be a serious issue when I need to be at work AT 7. (Oh, and leave an entire hour before that to get there on time.)
I went to the city with the fam this...

New Years.
I just decided New Years should be Mad Men themed this year.
This is an awe-wait for it-some idea.

allthepeople asked: Just a quick comment... you mentioned not wearing fancy shoes unless your supervisor is coming... During my student teaching I tried to wear high heels three times a week, and silly as it sounds, it cut down on nerves for me. I remember when I was a kid I always thought high heels were so important and professional. Therefore, wearing them in the class, I would feel just that much more confident...

Anonymous asked: do you have any advice for those who are beginning their student teaching? I just completed my junior practicum and had a rather mediocre experience. My pedagogy clashed with my cooperating teacher's so much so that I felt like I couldn't plan any of my lessons the way I wanted to. My teacher teaches in a more procedural way and I'd like to follow an inquiry-based approach. Also, I...

I need to update...
and I will tomorrow! I have so much to talk about. Like:
iPad apps that I’ve downloaded
my new job
an interesting thing that I found in a children’s iPad app that made me go “WHAT?!”
graduation
my excitement for all these new followers
the list of web resources I’ve collected
Khan Academy (that’s a big one)
& more.
Until then, here’s a...

amys-alpaca-farm asked: What state do you live in? It is rare that I hear teachers get offered jobs that quick, here in Ohio.
raymondcardenas asked: You were offered a position at the school you student taught at?
math-girl asked: Congratulations on finishing up! Where will you be teaching and what level/content area? I have enjoyed reading your blog so far, and I look forward to following you through your journey! PS: I think you need to change your title... I don't think it's 8 weeks anymore!

HEY THERE!
A big hello to all my new (and old) followers!
I just wanted to say thank you and let any of you current student teachers know that I just completed my student teaching on the 9th, was offered a job on the 16th, and graduated on the 17th so if any of you have any questions or want to complain I’m all ears!
Seriously, talk to me.
Thanks again to each and every one of you!
joport-deactivated20130311 asked: Your tumblr seems cool and exciting, it's nice to find another teacher related blog haha, can't seem to find many on here! (: Congrats on the new job though, just seen it on here (:
ashleighbee asked: yay! Congrats!
All grown up.
Oh. By the way….
I got the job. Well, maternity leave, but who cares. I got it.

Changed my sheets on my bed, put them on the ground for 2 minutes. This is what happened. Btw, the whistle is one of the various things I use to get my class’s attention. Ignore the cackling laugh, please.

Oh My Gosh.
I just sent my resume and cover letter to a school a total of 33 minutes ago and the principal called me within 12 of those minutes. Maternity leave, mid January. Maybe I’m not so bad after all. I should probably stop freaking out now.
BTW Interview tomorrow. Two interviews in four days? Woah.

Convenience
I don’t care about the clothes or the shoes, I just want the ironing board.
contemporary closet design by los angeles architect Lisa Adams, LA Closet Design
I forgot to add why I want the ironing board.
On Monday, before my interview I took part in the destruction of my ironing. I take full responsibility for this stupidity. It went a little something like this: need to iron shirt,...
good god almighty. there’s glitter. EVERYWHERE.
never again, I will never do this again.
My feelings right now?
Stay in school forever. That job interview was scary. Well, not really, but the reality of zero jobs at the current time is scary. Hmm…. what else can I take on in the mean time to fund my life?

I'd just like to say.
That it’s 8 AM and I’m about to iron my shirt for my interview at 10. My mother apparently went out and bought me a ton of classroom stuff from the learning store this weekend. I swear I’m going to be jinxed. I’d really just like this job. Please and thank you?
I’m not nervous, but all I can think about is “what questions are they going to ask me that I...

Guess Who...
HAS AN INTERVIEW TOMORROW?
That’d be me.
Also, guess who thought after her last day of student teaching on Friday that life was over forever?
That’d be me.
Guess who came home to an e-mail from a school that she tutored at asking to meet for an interview?
That’d be me.
Guess who really really hopes she gets this job (even though it’s in the hood and a few blocks...

Attn: Student Teachers!
For those of you student teachers (beginning and ending) who follow me, let’s get the ‘#student teaching’ tag out there. I’m not sure if many of you follow it the tag on your dash, but if you do we can spread word and promote tumblrs to follow the tag on his or her dash!
Again, if you’re a student teacher and you want to add your ideas into the student teaching tag...

Things that Happened Today:
Student called me my first name. Look kid, I know I’m leaving soon, but we are not on a first name basis.
Other male student literally punch me right in my chest while trying to raise his hand during math. Although it was an accident, it was awkward for both of us and the rest of the class who was watching…
Principal opened the sublist for me :) (well and the other two student...
Before I Leave
A few parents (and my co-op) asked me to compile a list of web resources to use at home with students. I will be posting my list as soon as I am finished with it, but recently I’ve been thinking about how I’d like to reach parents in my own classroom. I’d love to have a website available where parents and students can access what we are doing in class and what resources they can...
cried much too much at my “surprise” goodbye party my co-op and students threw me.
much too much.

Things that have changed. (Worth a Read)
Me.
My philosophy of education.
my nail polish.
Keep Reading. (I promise.)
About that philosophy of education, I wrote a paper for my Phil of Ed class two years ago centered around god knows what. I know if I read it now I’d think it’s total bullshit, but you can’t really ask a 19 year old to write an entire paper on what their classroom philosophy is when all...
